Switched to Linux

Finally made the switch to Linux. I've done it before, but some issue would always bring me back.

Windows 11 is just too terrible. I right-clicked a file and saw a "Ask Copilot" option (ad, really) and found out they had reinstalled Copilot behind my back. I got mad and decided to leave. In case you're wondering, I'm using Fedora KDE now. It's an established, well-supported, easy-setup and low-maintenance distro (it's good enough for Torvalds). It was either this or Mint with Cinnamon, which I've also had a good time with, but KDE has been doing very good work these past few years and I wanted to see it.

Casey Muratori often says something to the effect of "If there ever is a Year of the Linux Desktop, it won't be because Linux gets better, but because Windows has gotten so bad that people are forced to switch." And it absolutely is something I agree with. Hell, even Microslop admitted it by announcing these course-correcting changes on the AI slop. People have been asking for this stuff for years, why do they care now? Well, it's actually affecting their numbers now, so they have to care about it. I've seen people online claim these user-hostile changes to Windows are because of bad PMs and do not reflect the company's stance as a whole. Even if I did buy that, I don't care whose fault it is, I just want it to stop. The best way to do that is by leaving and never looking back. These changes won't really mean anything. Eventually John Shareholder will come knocking, demanding more value extraction and Microslop will start with the bullshit again.

Just leave.
